When we first started down this journey we always said, ‘If we could only get that key to open her up, see what she is thinking, where she is going to go.’ FACES gave us that key.

HOW WE GOT STARTED

In 1995, a group of families who have children with autism came together and realized that they had all searched the same path for diagnosis, information about the disorder, and treatment for their children. The parents were not the only ones who suffered through this process: the impact of the delay in treatment for their children meant that critical time to make a difference was lost forever in the search to simply find treatment.

Together, these parents founded the Foundation for Autistic Childhood Education and Support (FACES) whose mission is to enable children with autism to reach their full potential by providing the community a resource for Early Intervention (ages 2-10), School Consultation (ages 2-22), Parent Training (ages 2-22), Social Development (ages 2-18), and School Readiness (ages 2-5).

Our Mission
To enable children with autism to reach their full potential by providing Northern California with a resource for early intervention services based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis, K-12 school and parent consultation, and community education.
